Actually, Halloween is up next, but I am part of a cause. I am tired of seeing red and green in October!!! (The only red and green I want to see right now are the GREEN leaves turning RED for fall!) I don't want to hear Christmas carols/music until AFTER Thanksgiving! It's only right and good to take our time... and for retailers to KNOCK IT OFF!!! Quit pushing us! With the economy the way it's going, you are not going to get our money this year anyway!
Okay... so you have to go read the post at suldog's. He is taking a stand and starting this movement to look at how silly the whole thing has become... mainly advertising and promotions that have gotten out of control over the commercialism of Christmas.
Man, I just really want to get out the movie "A Charlie Brown Christmas", sit down to watch it with some popcorn, and wait for the climax of the movie when Linus gives his speech on stage... but I'll wait until December. It is all just better then.
(Take part in the movement yourself. Go to Thanksgiving Comes First and read how. Google the phrase "Thanksgiving Comes First" to get the popularize the search. Let's enjoy each season like we used to.)

Next up.... maybe I will finally get that post up that I have been working on about my views on the veterinary community here in Iowa... maybe I will participate finally in the Monday Meme. Maybe not...

P.S. Still PINK!!!!! Let's be aware... support someone you know who has been touched by breast cancer... give a hug, give money, do a self breast exam... it's all good.

Oh... one more item... please visit Linda's blog to keep up or join in on the praying for our country. You have to be thinking it needs it, no?

Heidi-I agree with you totally! But I do have to tell you what my son just asked me and what he is doing right now! He asked me how many more days until Christmas! Now he is making a chain with that many days and every night he rips one off until Christmas! He did it last year for school but they started after Thanksgiving. He must have just thought of it as he was making a chain. Funny!
I completely agree with the campaign to put Thanksgiving before Christmas --- even as I plan out the Christmas cards I need to make for sale and for family. But you will definitely see Thanksgiving on my blogs first!
Ever notice how one week everyone is complaining about it coming on too fast, then the next everyone is talking about how busy they are and Christmas is coming too fast?? No happy medium....
Thank you, Heidi! One blog at a time...
I'm collecting links to all, and will publish them on Friday.
Laurie- That is too funny about Big A!!! It is fun to count down the days, though!!!
Barb- I am about done making my Christmas cards... but I figure I am doing them now so that I can take it slower around the actual holiday to enjoy time with my family even more... that and I am always busier shoveling SNOW later!!!
Jessica- How are you doing, Girl?!?!? I agree... we always like to have something to complain about, huh? If it is sunny out, it's too hot... when it's cooler, we say it's too cold... that type of thing. Hope all is good with you!!!
suldog- This is fun to do and I am a supporter! Happy Halloween!
Hey Heidi!
I am torn on this one. While I totally agree about the commercialism from retailors, I am not sure on all the other stuff. You see I am guilty of starting to sing Christmas songs when the fall air starts to chill. It's more the "spirit" of Christmas that I get into early. All the warm fuzzies:):):):):)
Heidi- Well, all the warm fuzzies are fine anytime! :-)
I think it is just the concept of pushing it forward to make a buck that wears on us... if they were all as nice as you with the good feelings then there would be no problem :-)
Have a great Thursday!
To Adventure Girl: Absolutely! Heidi hit it on the head. Sing all you want. I'm just protesting the way-too-early forcing of the commercial aspects upon us.
