When we bought our house it had a huge above-ground pool. It kind of seemed cool at first to have it, but realized that maintenance was more than we really wanted to deal with, so we dismantled it and gave it away. Best decision ever. That said, we don't have young children like you do, so it may be worth it to try to fix it. However, I voted to stand in line at the aquatic center. Love, your lazy cousin.

I voted, though I know next-to-nothing about pools or pool repair. So, if you were after a totally uninformed opinion, I just gave you one :-)
